Pat Driscoll

Pat is one of Accountancy Insurance’s founding Directors. He has been involved with tax audit insurance since 2003 and subsequently founded Accountancy Insurance the same year. Pat commenced his career in financial accounting in the early 1980’s before spending a number of years working in the public practice area. Pat has developed the systems and processes of Accountancy Insurance from the ground up. His diverse and well-rounded accounting experience has assisted him greatly in creating and building the company, whilst his many years spent in the public practice area has enabled him to not only have a great insight into public practice workings, but also of the requirements and expectations.

Roman Kaczynski

Roman Kaczynski (CPA) started his public practice career in 1984, working in various public practice firms for over 25 years. It was during his time working in public practice that he was introduced to Accountancy Insurance, initially as their external accountants in 2004 in the early stages of operation, and later as a user and advisor on their tax audit insurance product, Audit Shield.

Roman’s understanding of tax audit insurance and Audit Shield saw him assist and train claims staff at Vero (one of Australia’s largest insurance companies). Roman was an adviser on the Accountancy Insurance Board until 2009 when he became a Director. He manages the underwriting agency side of Accountancy Insurance.

Peter Child

Peter began his insurance career in the early 1990s with Euler Hermes plc, the London based trade credit and political risks underwriter.  He worked in data analysis, sales and underwriting before returning to Guernsey in 2001.

There, as Assistant Director of the Insurance Division of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, he was responsible for the regulation of Guernsey’s captive sector, latterly heading up the authorizations unit that reviewed all new business applications and material changes to existing business plans. In 2005 he moved into industry.

After a short stint with Aon, he joined Artex in 2007 and worked in various different roles servicing captives from industries as diverse as financial services, mining, legal, travel, aviation, and retail sectors.  He also oversaw commercial insurer and reinsurers and sat on a number of insurance company boards. He was appointed Managing Director of the Guernsey office in 2016 and latterly took on responsibility for European operations until early 2021.

Peter joined Strategic Risk Solutions in July 2021 and is CEO Europe, overseeing offices in Ireland, Guernsey, Malta, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Netherlands and Sweden.

Peter is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.  He is a past Chairman of the Guernsey International Insurance Association (“GIIA”), the representative body for Guernsey’s insurance companies and insurance managers and is current Chair of GIIA’s Market Development Committee which oversees initiatives in the areas of captive insurance, Insurance Linked Securities, rated reinsurance, pension risk transfer structures, MGAs, Life insurers and international market access.

David Hully

David is an independent Non-Executive Director of City & Commercial Insurance Company (PCC) Limited (Guernsey) and a Director for the Fintech company ADAL Technologies Ltd. (UK).  David is also a Partner at RISCS CWC, an award-winning independent consultancy providing captive insurance & alternative risk transfer (ART) strategic risk advice.  Since 1997, David has been working in the international financial services sector with roles in insurance, management consulting, asset management and investment banking.

David holds an MBA with Distinction and Strategy Concentration from London Business School, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and a BSc in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Kate Storey

Kate is a dual qualified English Solicitor and Guernsey Advocate with over 20 years’ experience as a commercial lawyer, the last 16 of which she has spent in Guernsey practising financial services law. Until April 2023 Kate was a partner and co-head of the Guernsey Funds & Corporate team at Walkers Global law firm. She has since become a full-time professional non-executive director and consultant in the Insurance and Investment Funds sectors.

Kate has specialist expertise in Guernsey insurance regulation and the establishment, licensing and governance of re/insurance structures in commercial and captive insurance, insurance linked securities (ILS) and wider alternative risk transfer transactions, including longevity risk swaps for pension schemes.

Kate sits on the Executive Committee of both the Guernsey International Insurance Association (GIIA) and the Guernsey Investment & Funds Association, and is immediate past Chair of the Guernsey Commercial Bar. She sits on several sub-committees of GIIA, including the Captives, ILS & Reinsurance and ESG committees, and is immediate past Chair of GIIA’s Pensions De-Risking Committee.
